Week1

Friday 5th November 2021

The children enjoyed coming back to school this week as Tuesday was our entry point day for our new topic "Chocolate". We discussed what we already knew about chocolate, what we wanted to find out as we study the topic and even had a chocolate tasting session to decide which was our favourite type of chocolate. We used this information to create a class tally chart and bar chart. We also found out where the Top 10 largest chocolate producing countries are in the world.  We began our new English unit studying "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and wrote character descriptions of Charlie Bucket. We studied Money in Maths and all of the children were great at it, they are obviously well used to counting their pocket money and spending it! We had great fun on Wednesday taking part in our first Orienteering lesson. Today we did our first lesson of the new RSE Curriculum and discussed different types of families coming to a consensus about what a happy family contains: love, laughter, fun, kindness, caring for each other etc.

Today we had 2 award winners: Seraphine and Charlotte - see photos below. Excellent work both of you.

Also a special well done to Manav who gave the class a great impromptu talk on how his family celebrate Diwali. Well done Manav!
