Week ending 6.5.2022
History:
This week we learnt about Viking longboats. We noted that they were powered by oars and sails and had no indoor spaces. Amazing to think that evidence of a Viking presence has been found in countries far away from Scandinavia. We enjoyed making our own longboats. The Vikings of 1/2B set sail over the North Sea to the England........

Jack and the Beanstalk.
This week we acted the traditional tale, drew a class story map and used the map to retell the tale. We enjoyed reading Layla's Jack and the Beanstalk story, which we noted had different parts to the story that we read, and have also started reading "Jack and the Baked Beanstalk". Tins of Baked Beans are found growing on the stalk. It is great listening to the children spot the similarities and differences between different versions of the same tale.
