Week 2

Friday 14th January

Week 2 of this term has gone by very quickly and the children have all worked very hard again. They seem to be very motivated by building their Reward Points total so that they can earn a treat soon.

We have challenged 5/6C to a times table competition on Times Table Rockstars so it would be great if the children could have the opportunity to go on the website as often as possible (15 minutes a day) so that they can continue to practice their tables. Year 4 also take part in the National Times Table check in June so the more they can work on them the better. The link for the website can be found on our main class page and the children have all taken their log in details home again today.

In Maths this week we have completed some work on adding and subtracting lengths and then recapped on Place Value by rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. In English we have written instructions on "How to catch a dragon". The children did some great work, including many of the features of instructions, but their work was also very entertaining to read and mark. In History we have completed a Viking Timeline and in Science we have begun to look at Forces and Magnets. The children began Gymnastics in PE this week and we were all very glad to be able to do this in the hall away from the cold weather.

Our Values Award winner this week is May who has been very Kind and Thoughtful to the needs of all of the children in our class.

I hope you all have a super weekend.

Mrs Lee
