Week 2

What a sweltering week it has been both in and out of the classroom! It has been great to enjoy the summer weather with the children, although the classroom certainly does get warm this time of year!

The main event this week was undoubtedly Sports Day. The children had a fantastic time competing for their houses and cheering on their peers. We were so impressed by the overall attitude of the children and it really was a tremendous morning. Thank you to Mrs Newbold for organising it! Back in the classroom the children put the finishing touches to their theme parks using both their maths and English skills in doing so. In history the children looked at appeasement and the differing attitudes of Neville Chamberlain and Winston Churchill. Like last week the range of historical skills on display was impressive. As well as Sports Day on Thursday we also had Day of the African Child. The children put together work to send to our MP Matt Western in the hope that he will raise our concerns and suggestions in Parliament.

This weeks song is by Ellie Goulding and is a feel good classic, Anything Could Happen.

Thanks,
