Week 4
Friday 20th May
Our certificate winner this week was Luke for the value of Challenge by doing some super creative writing this week about the volcano eruption in Pompeii.
This week in maths we have been looking at angles and 2D shapes. In English our grammar work has included using conjunctions and possessive apostrophes. We have further studied "Escape from Pompeii" and have written descriptive recounts of the eruption of Vesuvius. In science we have continued making a variety of electrical circuits and added switches so that we can turn a light off. In RE we have continued looking at Pentacost, whilst in history we have looked at the reasons the Romans decided to invade Britain.
Today we began our Jubilee celebration with a visit from Mrs Newbold's Mum who was able to tell us about her memories of the Queen's Coronation. The children asked some super questions and found her talk to us fascinating.
