Home Learning

Due to the number of children needing to isolate, we have made the decision to add a two week unit of learning to our web page. If your child is absent from school, but feels well enough to complete school work, please use the link below. If you have any problems or questions, please contact me via my usual email address. If you wish to send work, you can also do that via my email address.

Welcome to 4C!

Spring 1

This half term PE will be on Mondays (Football) and Wednesdays (Gymnastics) each week so children can come to school wearing their PE kit on that day. We will not however be doing PE on the first day back (Wednesday 5th) as we will be doing our Topic Entry Point Day. Please send your child in school uniform on that day.

Our topic for this half term is Vikings - Invaders and Settlers. Our Entry Point Day for this will be on Wednesday 5th January.  In English this half term we will spend the first few weeks looking at "How to train your dragon" and will write instructions, setting descriptions and stories linked to this before moving on to non-fiction texts.  Our maths topics this half term include Measurement (Length and Perimeter), Place Value, Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Division and Statistics. Our Science for this half term is Forces and Magnets. Our RE Topic is entitled "Gospel" and considers the kind of world Jesus wants.

The children have their log in details for Bug Club, TT Rockstars and Spelling Shed and homework has been set for them on all 3. Please see below for web links for some of the Times Table games we use in Maths lessons, it would really help the children's recall if they can access these pages several times a week in preparation for the Year 4 Times Table Check in June this year.

Reading books can be returned on any day, as and when the book needs changing. We will keep a record of who is bringing their green reading diary in to ensure the children are continuing to read on a regular basis. If your child also reads books from home, could they also record these in their reading diary please with a short review of the book.

Please see the relevant week's folder (below) for examples of some of the work completed each week.

Our trophy winners and are shown in the relevant week's folder.
