Week 1

It has been a busy return to school for our first week back after half term.

On Tuesday we celebrated St David’s Day. In the morning we learnt about St David and used our descriptive writing skills to write a description of the mythical Welsh Dragon. In the afternoon we held St Paul’s inaugural Eisteddfod with the theme of the Welsh Dragon. The children chose to prepare either a reading, a dance, art work or play a piece of music of their chosen instrument. We were truly wowed by the talent and enthusiasm on display.

On Thursday, it was World Book Day. It was so nice to see so many of the children dressing up and also bringing in their favourite books. We love seeing what the children love to read and it was a great opportunity of the children to make reading recommendations to each other. In the afternoon, we used The Journey by Aaron Becker to inspire some imaginative watercolour painting and the results were beautiful.
