Week 4 w/e 20.05.22

On Friday afternoon, KS1 had a VIP visitor (aka Mrs Newbold's Mum).  She came to talk to the whole school about her memories of the Queen's coronation when she was a small child and what life was like back in those days.  Before her talk the children prepared questions they wanted to ask her to find out more about the past.

Thank you Mrs Walsingham...

Platinum Jubilee Song

This is a song KS1 are learning to sing as part of the celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

We have now completed our unit of work in MATHS.  This week we have worked on the equivalence of 1/2 and 2/4, finding 3/4, finding the fraction of an amount and counting in fractions.  Often we work practically before using maths equipment to help us in our written work.  The pictures below show a group of children finding a fraction of a number...

This week, the children have been working hard in DT to finish and evaluate their animal puppets.  Some of the children then used them as part of a role play, creating a little script to act out. They have produced some amazing work that they are very proud of.  They will be bringing them home very soon for you to share in their brilliant sewing and creative skills.  In the meantime, here are some pictures of the end results for you to enjoy...
