Week 4

Friday 26th November

The children were very excited yesterday to go on their first school trip in 2 years when we went to Cadbury's World as part of out chocolate topic. The children had a great day and behaved impeccably, I was very proud of them. When I asked them what their favourite part of the day was, their answers ranged from the 4D cinema, to seeing Mr Bown on the slide, to the coach ride there! During the day they enjoyed learning about how Chocolate is made during the Cadbury's Tour, and had a go at tempering the chocolate and writing their names in chocolate. They finished the day with some time in the adventure playground, it was great to see them all playing so well together.

In other news, we marked No Pens Day on Wednesday by trying to use a pen or pencil as little as possible during the day (I failed but the children managed it pretty well!). We completed lots of practical activities including playing maths games (on fractions and times tables) and collage artwork.

In Art this week the children drew and painted some great animals in the style of Quentin Blake.

In RE we thought about the Festival of Sukkot celebrated by the Jewish faith when they remembered the 40 years they wandered in the dessert. This is now marked in Jewish home by the building of a Sukka or shelter. We built our own in the Forest School area.

Evie was the recipient of the Head Teacher award this week because she always sets a fantastic example to the rest of the class by demonstrating the school values in everything she does.

Our Values winner this week was James who showed many values throughout the week but I was particularly proud of how thoughtful and kind he always is with everyone else in the class.
