Summer 1

Week 6

Worship Week

Our Worship Area

Week 5

We ended the week with some reward time for such brilliant concentration and effort during SATs week, the children tried their absolute hardest! As a reward we played parachute games on the school field, the children had great fun jumping on the parachute to ‘pop the bubble’.

In RE this week, we discussed how Christians worship their God. One of which is singing songs of praise. The class voted for their favourite Collective Worship song, My Lighthouse, we discussed the meaning of the lyrics and then created our own Lighthouse paintings! What a wonderful job they have done!

Week 4

This week in Maths we have been learning about fractions. We began by finding halves and quarters of shapes and then moved onto finding halves and quarters of numbers.

Science

Continuing with our Habitats topic, this week we have written fact files about rock pools. We have learnt the names of some creatures found in rock pools and have discussed how they have adapted to suit the environment.

Week 3

The children enjoyed playing the Karate Cat game on the TopMarks website to practise grammar, punctuation and spelling.

Science

This term we are exploring Habitats. We began by thinking about the habitats of mini beasts, so last week we spent time exploring the school grounds to see which mini beasts we could spot. This week we have explored beach habitats, we have talked about a range of plants and animals found by the sea and wrote diary entries to describe a trip to the seaside.

Week 2

English

This week the children planned and wrote a new ending to the fairy tale Rapunzel. There were some super ideas from helicopter rescues to talking rainbows! We were extremely impressed with everyone’s hard work and independent writing. Well done 2C!
