We have continued to immerse ourselves into the graphic novel The Arrival by Shaun Tan in our ENGLISH sessions this week.  In Chapter 2, we followed a young man as he packs his bags and leaves his family to go and start a new life in another country. We experience his journey, his struggles to communicate, find accommodation, a job and food, as well as following the stories of other immigrants. 

The children have summarised his journey and are looking forward to writing diary entries in role as our main character next next week.

We are enjoying a Playground Athletics unit of work in PE currently.  On Friday, we were working on a javelin, standing long jump, hurdles and chest pass rotation.  Everyone had fun!  

Our 2nd week of swimming also went well.  Again, it is great to see your children smiling and enjoying their sessions.
