DT- cooking at home:

Zekie so enjoyed our cooking lesson last week, that he recreated every dip at home and is now open for business or as I should say was open for business on Sunday, with menus and everything! It really was fabulous to receive these photos yesterday. Keep cooking and enjoying your learning Zekie!

Maths: Subtraction within 20 crossing tens.

We have continued to use our new maths resource, the Rekenrek, to help us solve subtraction number sentences such as 13-6=7.

We have learnt inside the class and outside following a subtraction trail. Lots of great learning and use of the Rekenrek to support and visualise our learning. Below is a link to show how we use it.

Geography: Hot and Cold Climates

We learnt the words: Southern Hemisphere, Northern Hemisphere, temperate climate, tropical climate as well as warm and cold climates. We appreciated that the different climates supported different trypes of plants and animals.

We discussed which animals lived in which climates and tried to place them in the correct box. It was tricky and lead to lots of discussion. The frog for example, what type of frog was the picture? How many different frogs are there in the world?
