Week 7

And that's a wrap for 2022 ... Merry Christmas Everybody !

Watching the KS1 Nativity performance - Prickly Hay - was a fabulous treat to start off our last week of term.  Once again, all the children on stage were brilliant and their siblings really enjoyed the show, along with the rest of the audience.  Well done and thank you to the KS1 staff and children!

It was a brisk walk to church on Thursday morning in -7 temperatures for our Christmas Service.  However, we were all in good spirits and thankful for the bright winter sun and for the time to reflect on the meaning of this special time of year.

A chilled out Christmas Card making session...

5/6B have been working hard in DT this half term to design, make and evaluate an accessory made from recycled material.  It had to be at least 2 pieces of material sewn together, have a decoration, a fastening and have a functional purpose.  It has been a challenging task for everyone, however their resilience shone through and the children are proud of the items they have made.   Coming home for Christmas to be admired by those at home ....

A selection of our finished projects...

The Mystery of the Missing Present engaged us all in Maths this week.  We had to use the following skills to solve clues leading to an answer: negative number sequencing, converting Roman Numerals, subtraction, place value and rounding.  We have also solved a variety of Christmas themed words problems involving all 4 operations.
