Week 1
What a fantastic start to the new school year 5/6B have had! They have welcomed me to Upper Juniors and shown what a brilliant attitude they have to their learning. Everyone has maintained a positive can-do manner and given every task a go, trying their best in our work of this week. I hope you enjoy looking at some of what they have produced. Have a great weekend!
In MATHS, we have enjoyed recognising patterns by cracking the code in our colour and shape 100 square lessons. In the last session, 5/6B worked in groups to create their own square and we have now displayed them in the junior corridor. They are already causing a stir!
Can you crack the code?
In ENGLISH, we have used "Here We Are" by Oliver Jeffers as a focus for our work. We have discussed what makes a good speaker and a good listener and then carried out an activity to practice those skills. We have listened to, visualised and responded to a collection of poems by Grace Nichols and finished the week by exploring what makes us special and unique.
5/6Bs Personality Swirls...
We are currently reading Kensuke's Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo for pleasure at the end of our days.
