RE

We recognised that the word ‘Advent’ means the arrival of something new. We created our own wreaths by sticking green tissue paper onto paper plates. We then decorated them using pictures of candles and red pom-poms. The four candles represent the four weeks of Advent, and one candle is lit each Sunday.

English

We practiced forming capital letters and identifying where they should be used. For example, at the beginning of a sentence and for names of people and places. Furthermore, we wrote simple sentences to describe what we would do at the Leamington Spa landmarks. This was linked to the Geography work we did, where we looked at the landmarks and created a journey line.

Maths

We completed stem sentences for subtracting numbers, and part-whole models for subtraction stories. We practiced taking numbers away by crossing the objects out and counting the objects that were left over.
