Week 1

4th November 2022

It was great to see the children back feeling refreshed and ready to start the new half term and hearing stories about many of the exciting things they did during their week off. We hit the ground running and began the week by making alien soft toys during DT using (for many of us) some newly acquired sewing skills. I have to say, I was so impressed with the determination and resilience 4C showed in completing the task. There are some great photos of the finished toys below.

We spent the remainder of the week beginning new maths on multiplication, specifically the 3 and 6 times tables. We began our new English text "Journey to Jo'burg", a story set in South Africa during Aparthied. We began our new topic "Black Pioneers" by completing some geography work using atlases and locating different countries around the world.

Our certificate winners this week are Sofi and Heidi (photos below). Congratulations both of you!
