Week 2

It has been a fantastic week in 5/6B with lots of fun things happening! As always the enthusiasm and hard work of the children has been a joy to behold and the whole teaching team have been so impressed.

It has been science week this week and the children have been doing a range of activities linked to this (keep an eye on the website next week for some photos of the completed work). During English and maths lessons the children have been doing tests this week. We are always keen that the children try their best but also understand that tests are a great way of helping staff no where we may need to further support. The children have given all the tests 100% and have had a really positive attitude. In PE the children have been continuing their street dance routines and it has been great to see how committed all of them have been. We were treated to a trip from the fire brigade who gave a really interesting talk all about fire safety and what to do in the event of a fire. Ask the children to do a fire inspection on the house, they should be experts.

Undoubtedly the highlight of the week has been the trip to The Tower of London. It was an absolutely brilliant day with Mr Hawkins declaring that it was the best trip that he had been on. The sun was shining and it was a glorious day with an unexpected tour of some of the sites of London thrown into the trip. Brentford FC's new stadium, Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, New Scotland Yard, Tower Bridge, The Shard, The Gherkin to name but a few. To top it off we then had an fabulous time going round the Tower and seeing all the sites. It was also so good to see the trip bring to life The Executioner's Daughter as the children got to see some of the settings like the Salt Tower and infamous garderobe which Moss dropped down to reach The Thames. We even saw the dragon!

Thanks,

The 5/6B Team
