Week 6
Friday 10th December
We have been in full Christmas spirit in school this week, particularly today as the children enjoyed our Christmas lunch, went to the Christmas Fair and looked fantastic in their Christmas jumpers. Thank you very much for your generosity in donating to Save the Children today too.
We have been finishing our Maths, English and Topic work this week. We have also completed a piece of work to send to our partner school in Sierra Leone based on the book "Wangari's Trees of Peace" (video below). The book is based on the true story of environmentalist Wangari Maathai who was the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize. The children wrote some amazing poems about trees and their importance to the environment. The originals will be sent to our partner school in Bo, Sierra Leone but the children also have a copy of it to keep in their books.
Our Values Certificate this week is Gretel who shows all of our values all of the time but this week has been particularly kind and thoughtful.
