Maths

This week, the children began some new learning on fractions. Children learnt that a half is two equal parts and that there may be more than one way to half a picture.

English

We continued to enjoy our new text, ‘The Smeds and the Smoos’ by Julia Donaldson. The children have listed words from the text in alphabetical order and planned and written a setting description.  

Geography

We explored atlases within geography this week. We thought about what continents, countries and capital cities are. We used a map of the British Isles and identified the four countries which make up the UK as well as their capital cities.
