Week 5

We have reached the end of another half term and it is quite sad to think that we only have seven more weeks till the academic year ends. Still in that time we have so much planned! It has been a fantastic final week of the half term and there have been so many activities going on, many of which being linked to the Jubilee.

In English the children have been finishing their stories which have been inspired by the book The Tunnel. Seeing how far the children have progressed with their writing has been amazing and there were some absolutely amazing pieces of work. In maths the children have been tackling the always tricky subject of time. As always the children worked hard and listened well and really seemed to be grasping the different concepts that were being taught. The children also got a chance to publish their non-chronological reports about the Queen's reign and also got to go and show their work to some of the younger children in the school.

Away from the norm we also had various activities linked to the Jubilee going on this week. On Monday the children took part in a 'Dance through the decades' workshop led by Laura. The children got to shimmy, boogie and shake their way through some of the more memorable dance crazes of the past few decades. On Thursday the children all came together in the afternoon to have a Jubilee picnic on the fields. Dressed in their best partywear it really was a delight to see the whole school together. We even had a royal visit from Princess Elsa and Princess Anna.

This weeks song choice is by Vanessa Carlton and is called A Thousand Miles, as promised a different genre to finish on. We hope that you have a fantastic half term and see you in a weeks time!

Thanks,
