Week 1

A warm welcome back to the final term of the academic year! The summer term is always packed to the brim and there are lots of exciting things for the children to look forward to. It was lovely to see the children back after the Easter break and hear what they had been up to.

In class it was straight back into lessons for the children. Shared reading involved the children looking at an interview with Ronaldo and then identifying what the key features of an interview were. Using this knowledge the children then began to plan an interview based off the book The Watertower in English. Along with this the children spent time looking at different sentence types. In maths the children looked at describing position, position in the first quadrant, properties of 2D shapes, translating shapes and translating coordinates (it was a busy week). In geography we started our new topic, to begin with the children got to do some small experiments which aimed to show erosion and weathering. In science the children looked at recognising the stages of growth and development. In RE the children were given the opportunity to explore parables with the aim being to discover more about the kingdom of god. Finally in art we combined our art lesson with St George's Day and created collages.

A special mention to Lillie who this week (along with Eliza) presented an assembly for St George's Day to the whole school. It was a great assembly and we were all very impressed with her confident presenting skills.

This weeks song is by the band Feeder and is called Feeling a Moment. A great song to run to!

Thanks,
