Wow! We have had another busy week in class and all the children have worked so hard to build their learning. Here are some of the things we have enjoyed learning about this week:
This week, we read the beginning of ‘Leaf Man’ by Lois Ehlert. As a class, we went outside to search for Leaf Man and to gather a variety of leaves and sticks. We then enjoyed creating our own Leaf Man within class.
We have continued to practise counting to ten using a range of practical activities. We have also been counting forwards and backwards.
The children have enjoyed starting a new topic, ‘The Gunpowder Plot’ and have started to learn a little about who Guy Fawkes was.
In Science, we have started to learn about the seasons. As a class, we looked at a range of weather symbols and discussed what type of weather it showed, how it would make us feel and how we should dress appropriately for the weather. In small groups the children matched clothing to the given weather choices. We then watched some weather reports and identified today’s weather. We practised giving a weather report and presented these to the class.
