This week in class we have been building up towards our Jubilee celebrations. In English, the children have enjoyed reading the story of Katie in London. On Friday afternoon, we were treated to a visit from Mrs Newbold’s mother, Mrs Walsingham, who spoke to the children all about her experiences and memories of the Queen’s coronation. The children thought of lots of interesting questions to ask Mrs Walsingham and sat and listened intently to her responses. A wonderful end to our week of learning!

Maths

This week, we started a new unit all about multiplication and division. Children have practised counting in tens. We have also made equal groups and added equal groups using a range of activities.

ICT

During May, the children have been getting more familiar with collecting the laptops, turning them on and signing in. We have re-visited our Word documents and copied and pasted another picture. This week, we have begun to explore Scratch and all children created a character and a programme to make it move.
