In English, we have focussed on descriptive writing. The children wrote a descriptive paragraph to describe the moment Jim Jarvis first climbed up onto the rooftop and found the other sleeping street children.
Shared Reading - we looked at the character description of Gollum from the Hobbit. We identified the descriptive language used and drew how we imagined Gollum to look, based on the description.
History - we learnt about the life of the famous Victorian, Dr Thomas Barnardo and the impact he had on society.
DT - we learnt about how simple Cam mechanisms work in an automata toy.
ICT - as part of our unit on Internet safety we discussed the impact of negative comments online and how important it is to always be kind in what we say, whether that is in person or online.
