Week ending 22.10.21

What a busy week 1A have had! We started the week off with a visit to the church to celebrate Harvest. The children were very excited, as for many of them, it was there first time inside the church. Mrs Corbett and Mrs Patel were so proud of them. They walked sensibly, listened carefully and sang beautifully! Well done!

English

We have been continuing our work on non-fiction texts and created autumn information posters. We included a heading, facts, photograph and a label and were very proud of what we created!

Maths

We have been exploring number bonds to 10. We have used numicon, tens frames, cubes and our fingers to work out our number bonds. We investigated how many there were and we can work this out in a logical way. We thoroughly enjoyed singing along to the Farmer Pete number bond song too.

R.E.

As part of our Creation topic, we continued the harvest theme by thinking about who we need to thank for our food. We took our time appreciating tasting some fruit together and talked about how God, farmers, shopkeepers and our parents help us to have food.

Black History Month

To celebrate black history month, we thoroughly enjoyed watching some live story-telling by African story-teller Usifu. He took us on a journey around the world with interactive stories, music and singing.
