Week 2

Friday 12th November

This week we held a 2 minute silence on Thursday at 11am for Remembrance Day. I was very proud of the children for how seriously and sensibly they took this. In the afternoon we created artwork to help us reflect on the impact of war and to think about those people who have fought for us.

In Maths this week we have worked on time, telling the time to the nearest 1 and 5 minutes, as well as understanding the 24 hour clock and how that relates to AM and PM times. In English we have continued studying Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, discussing how Roald Dahl described characters, then writing our own descriptions using similes and metaphors. We have also looked at how Roald Dahl creates suspense in the story. We began our new RE topic on "Celebrations" and continued our Chocolate topic, finding out about how chocolate is produced, "From Bean to Bar".

Our Values award winner this week is Jack who has Challenged himself to complete all activities in lessons, but particularly in Maths. Well done Jack, keep it up!
