Week ending 12.11.2021
English:
This week we read our book "Lila and the Secret of Rain". The children thought about how Lila maybe feeling at different points in the story.
We then used drama and art to learn the main parts of the story. Looking at our story map below, I hope the children can retell the story to you.
Maths:
Year 1 have spent the week looking at subtraction using pictures, counters and number sentences. We finished the week problem solving by working out if a number sentence matched a diagram. Pretty challenging.
Year 2 have been focusing on adding and subtracting 1s. The children completed a range of challenges to help their improve their fluency in calculations.
Remembrance Day:
To mark Remembrance Day, we discussed how the image of a poppy gives us hope for the future. We all enjoyed making our poppy art pictures. Parents and carers, we hope you appreciate them too.
