Week 7

We have had a fantastic week. On Tuesday we had Black History Day where we learnt about Marcus Rashford and Katherine Johnson and their important work and positive impact on society. We listened to the story Sulwe by Lupita Nyong'o and the children thought about why they are proud of themselves. This is a really beautiful story and I would highly recommend it. We looked at the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat and the children did their own art work in the style of Jean-Michel.

In Design Technology this week the children designed their own pizza, learnt about food hygiene, made their own dough, learnt safe cutting skills and produced their own super pizzas. We looked at a balanced diet and all the main food groups. They then evaluated their work - most were very pleased with their end product!

Well done everyone for a super half term. Have a lovely half term holiday.
