Week ending 10.3.2023

English- The Emperor's Egg:

We read our new book and talked about our favourite parts and asked questions, reflecting on our understanding. We were all surprised about the height of a fully grown Emperor Penguin- a full 130cm. Many of us (children and adults) were impressed how the male penguin looked after the egg whilst the female went swimming and eating!

We write facts under different sub headings and finally, write an explanation text on the Life Cycle of a Penguin. A new word to us all- fledgling.

Science:

We finished the week continuing with science. We discussed different animals' environments which enable them to survive. Again we talked about "endangered and extinct" animals. I feel we have fabulous children who are keen to look after and protect animals across the world.

Maths:

Continuing with multiplication this week. We explored equal parts, repeated addition and the multiplication symbol.
