Week ending 4.11.2022

English:

We have started "Emma Jane's Aeroplane", but to the annoyance of the children, we have only read two pages. We've asked questions and made predictions. We are starting a short unit on writing instructions and next week, we will be writing instructions to make a paper aeroplane. Possibly even better than Emma Jane's. This week we have learnt about verbs and in particular, bossy verbs. The children have learnt that the best instructions are clear with bossy verbs at the beginning, are well ordered and numbered. Finally Traction Man sent us a letter. He didn't  know why people were putting brushes in their mouths. We kindly ordered instructions to clean our teeth for him. A bit of discussion on when to turn the tap off was interesting.

Maths:

We enjoyed making posters showing numbers bonds to 10 with their corresponding number sentences.

Art-Clay:

More clay work. Fabulous work designing and making their tiles. Painting them next week.
