Week Ending 7th May
The King's Coronation.
During this week the children have been thinking about the coronation of King Charles. They made streamers, and wrapped sticks in red white and blue wool to develop their fine motor skills, painted the kings portrait, wrote about what they thought he did and looked like and made a crown for our celebratory picnic on Friday. The role play area was turned into either a throne room or a tea party venue depending on the imagination of the children who enjoyed taking on the role of a ruler and also writing shopping lists for a party! In sensory play activities they explored red white and blue play dough as well as rice.
