Week Beginning 17th January
This week we have been finding out about the Antarctic research stations or ‘ice labs’. We have been building them out of construction materials and in Reception we have drawn and labelled our designs.
We also became scientists and investigated ice balloons. We explored how the ice changed when it melted.
We have been creating works of art that are inspired by snow and ice. First of all we looked at the sculptures of Andy Goldsworthy and explored different textures and media to create an icy picture.
Later we used paint to mix coloured that made us feel wintry and cold.
