Week 1

Friday 7th January 2022

4C constantly make me feel proud. They have returned to school very well and have been on task and worked well as a group throughout this week, producing some work of excellent quality.

Although it has been a short week, we have packed a lot in. On Wednesday the children took part in a Vikings entry point day when we learnt about Viking language and made Rune necklaces, they made and wore their own Viking helmets and wrote map coordinates for a Viking island from the story "How to train your dragon".

Later in the week we started our new maths topic on area and perimeter. The children showed they have a good understanding of comparing equivalent lengths measured in millimetres, centimetres and metres. In English we wrote a setting description and began to look at the features of instructions. In History we studied the Viking invasion of Lindisfarne and in RE we began to look at the Gospel according to Matthew who talked about his disciples being "fishers of men". Then finally this week, in RSE, we devised drama to show good and bad ways of resolving differences between friends.

Our certificate winners this week are Max and Noah, well done both of you.
