Welcome to St. Paul's Early Years Foundation Stage
Our school vision.
Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me' Matthew 19:14.
We are all equally important, listened to and loved by God.
We are a Christian school and we value being
-encouraging and challenging
brave and kind
thankful and thoughtful
Our EYFS Unit
Our EYFS unit combines our 30 place (15 per session) Nursery provision as well as a Reception intake of 45 children.
There are two classes in our Early Years. Each class is led by a class teacher. During their time in our unit, all pupils will work with both class teachers as well as all of our teaching assistants and our Senior Early Years Educator on a range of child-initiated and adult-led activities.
All children are allocated a named Key Person prior to their start with us in EYFS.
Entry into EYFS (Nursery or Reception) September 2025
Individual Meetings
For all Nursery children who are not already in our Nursery provision there will be an opportunity for you to come into school to meet their class teacher. This will be instead of a home visit. These meetings will take place during the first week in September. Times will be allocated in 30 minute slots due to teacher commitments
Taster Sessions
We will hold some short taster sessions. These will be in September for Nursery aged children.
You will be notified of this information in your starter pack. (via email and in paper at the information meeting)
A 'Staggered Start'
To be able to get to know all of the children joining us as well as those who are making the transition from Nursery to Reception, we have a 'staggered start for all our children including those who already attended our Nursery provision.
Reception children attend full time from Monday 15th September.
Meet the Team
During their time in EYFS your child will work with a range of adults. Our adults are committed to enriching your child’s learning and to provide your child with a secure foundation to support them as they move through school. We promote positive learning behaviours, in line with the Characteristics of Effective Learning which consists of creativity, activity, persistence, resilience and independence, as we explore, problem solve and collaborate within the unit.
