Autumn 1

Week 1: We've had a lovely first week, getting to know each other. The children drew fantastic self-portraits in the style of the illustrator, Rob Biddulph..

We have been intrigued to embark on the brand new RE curriculum and explore the idea of our “worldview”. We loved making playdough sculptures to symbolise how to approach different worldviews with curiosity, empathy, humility and a listening ear.

Week 2: In English we have started work on our new text Night of the Gargoyles by Eve Bunting. The children have enjoyed using drama to explore the language used in the narrative poem. They created some excellent gargoyle poses!

Week 3: Vision Week - we have been exploring the story of St Paul and how his actions link to our school vision and values. We had a super visit to St Paul's church where Katy talked to us about how the story of St Paul was depicted in the stained glass window.

We have then designed and created an artistic response to our learning about Paul, trying to represent some of the themes we identified in his life.

Dancing fun with a specialist! We are really enjoying collaborating with Specialist Dance teacher, Faye, on a group dance.

Week 6: In R.E. Year 6 came up with some brilliant probing questions for our guest, Mr Wallis, to better understand his worldview as a Christian and a Scientist.
