This week, we started the 'addition and subtraction' unit. We had an introduction to parts and wholes. This was followed by using a part-whole model to share the whole number into the parts. We used the counters, lollipop sticks and cubes to look at the number of the ways the whole number could be shared. This helped to reinforce our knowledge of number bonds within 10. 

Following on from reading the story 'Traction Man', we planned our own story by thinking of a problem and a resolution. We included our new character from last week, and used the comic strip to plan the events. This was used as a scaffold for our story writing.
