Week 5

Friday 3rd December

As we get another week closer to Christmas, this week we celebrated the start of Advent in school during our Collective Worships and today the children helped Miss Mancini and I to decorate the classroom and put up our Christmas tree.

We are still going at full pace to finish the topics we need to do this term. In English we planned Newspaper Reports about when Charlie Bucket found the last Golden Ticket. In maths we have been using place value and our times table knowledge to multiply and divide by 10 and 100, as well as working on our 8x table. In our Chocolate Topic lesson we looked at how many companies do not use Fair Trade cocoa beans and wrote persuasive letters to Cadbury's to tell them that we think they should use Fair Trade cocoa again in their products. In Science we looked at how water can change state from solid to liquid and gas and learnt the vocabulary associated with this. In RE we continued looking at the celebrations of non-Christian religions, whilst in RSE we continued our relationship work by discussing the qualities that we find in a "good friend".

Our Values certificate winner this week is Laysea who received it due to the Kindness she shows to other members of the class.

Have a great weekend!
