An Adventure Begins...

We started our new school year with the book  "A Dog's Tale" by Michael Rosen, a lovely book about a puppy showing nerves at the start of a new stage of its life, but is encouraged to look forward to the adventures and unknowns ahead. I think there is an appropriate message here. The children have helped to make a great display in our classroom

English:

Each day we have been enjoying and producing work related to the Oliver Jeffers' book, " What We'll Build". We've built things, considered what makes a house a home and today, we discussed how we all help to build our futures. The children drew things they like and enjoy now, but then thought about what they would like to do in the future. I already feel quite a responsibility to help in building their futures; so many future doctors, nurses, vets, builders, astronauts and....spies(!) in the class.

Maths:

We started the year sorting and counting forwards and backwards. Sorting things by shape, colour or size. Sorting money into different coins as well as counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. There were so many ways we could sort all the children too.

Finally.....class rules we all came up with.
