Supporting children with special educational needs is something that is very dear to my heart. I taught for a significant number of years in special schools and gained my National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) with an additional special needs element. During this time I worked closely with the local authority’s SEND department and provided outreach support for mainstream pupils also. On my return to mainstream I took on the role of special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO) in three schools and now share this responsibility at St Paul’s also. Offering the appropriate provision and level of support for our SEND pupils is our aim and something I believe we do very well. Please feel free to discuss any SEND matters with me and I shall support you to the best of my abilities.
