Week 5 w/c 15.05.23

This week, we completed our learning in Geography by taking a field trip to investigate our local river - the River Leam.  We learned that Leamington does actually have its own small reservoir and we noted a small water plant alongside it.  We made our way along the river walk pathway towards the gardens noting lots of wildlife and wildflowers along the way.  We also discussed the feature of a flood plain, Welches Meadow, and how this has become a local nature reserve.  As we continued into the gardens we stopped to look at the Willes Road arch bridge and Mill Bridge; a type of suspension bridge, discussing their features that we have learned about in DT this half term.  We then looked at how the river is used for leisure by the Leam Boat Centre.  The sun shone and we all enjoyed the afternoon out.
