Week 5

Friday 7th October

This week saw us having a visit from Ofsted. I feel so proud of 4C because they behaved brilliantly as well as talking sensibly to the Inspector when required. We had our penultimate swimming lesson for this block and this resulted in Alex receiving a certificate for Bravery as he was amazing at pushing himself to learn new skills in the pool. Well done Alex!

In English we wrote non- chronological reports on Foxes and completed this half term's work on Addition and Subtraction before we move on to Money and then Time in the next 2 weeks.

In history we held a debate based on the Magna Carta of 1215 which King John was forced to sign by the nobility to limit his powers after taxing the people heavily. The children came up with some great ideas as to why King John should keep his power or whether there should be more power held by the nobility. This was the beginnings of Democracy in England, quite a difficult concept to understand when you are only in Year 4!

Our debate on whether or not King John should keep his full powers.
