St Andrew’s Day

Look at our amazing artwork!

We learnt about St Andrew and Scotland this week. In art, we created some wonderful collages to celebrate this special day!

Advent

During our Church Collective Worship, we learnt that this year Advent started on Sunday 28th November. In the Church of England, the colour purple is used to represent Advent. The robes our vicar wears have now changed from green to purple.

Maths

This week in maths, we have begun some new learning all about Shape. We have enjoyed recognising and naming both 2D and 3D shapes. We have also learnt to sort shapes.

DT

After tasting a selection of salads that contained root vegetables, we decided to make our own version of a Cous Cous salad.

On Thursday, we made a Kaleidoscope Salad in teams of 4.

We focussed on 3 important areas:

  1. To wash our hands and prepare our surfaces thoroughly.
  2. To use hot water safely.
  3. To use a sharp knife safely using a bridge or claw grip.

It was a successful morning where we all enjoyed our learning, took part in making a healthy salad and had the recipe to make again with our families. Please see recipe attached below if you would like to try this at home.
