Week 3

Friday 19th November

Another busy week in 4C as we have celebrated Children in Need today by "coming as ourselves". It was great to see the children wearing their casual clothes and some also wore great costumes. I was even lucky enough to have "Craig Revel Horwood" in my class today, although fortunately he was a lot more smiley and cheerful than the real life version!

This week we have completed a range of assessments in Maths, Grammar and Reading. I have been hugely impressed with how well the children have performed in these but also with the good spirit in which they have completed them. They have all tried their hardest and challenged themselves to complete them to the best of their ability. Having said that they were relieved to finish them today and to be rewarded for their hard work with some Golden Time this afternoon.

In other lessons, we have started looking at fractions in Maths, we have continued working on "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" in English, and have looked at how particles behave in solids, liquids and gases in Science. In RE we looked at the Jewish Harvest celebration of Sukkot, whilst in Geography we looked at how we should buy Fair Trade chocolate so that the cocoa bean farmers and workers get a larger proportion of the money earnt from chocolate production.

As a school we have followed the theme of Anti-Bullying Week of "One Kind Word" and have done lots of activities linked to this. The children have enjoyed giving "Caught you being Kind" vouchers to others who they spotted doing something kind and thoughtful. They have really got on board with the theme this week and of course it links so well with our School Values.

Our values certificate winner this week is Arthur. Well done 4C on a great week and have a lovely weekend.
