We have had a great first week back. The children really enjoyed our Entry Day where we started learning about Vikings, the children made their own Viking helmet and made a Viking rune necklace. In History the children learnt about the Viking raid at Lindisfarne. 

In English we have started our new book How to Train Your Dragon, the children identified vocabulary the author had used to describe the dragon cave. The children then wrote their own setting description of a cave, using our word of the week - ginormous. We also looked at the features of instructions text in preparation for writing their own instructions for how to catch a dragon next week!

In Maths we have focused on place value looking at the value of each digit in a 3 digit number and finding 1/10/100 more or less than a given number. The class did a great job and they worked with numbers into the 1,000s.
