Week beginning 9th November
What a busy week!
We started the week with a focus on poppies and Armistice Day and ended the week learning about the festival of Diwali.
On Monday morning we watched this CBeebies animation.
Later in the week we used some of our work, on the theme of poppies, to make this display.
On Wednesday we paused our PE lesson, so that we were able to join in with the national two-minute silence at 11 o'clock. Mr Barnes, Mrs Kalsi and Mrs Bush were very impressed by how quiet and respectful the children were as they stood in the hall.
On Thursday and Friday we learnt about Diwali. We watched these three short CBeebies films.
One of our favourite activities was making clay divas. We will paint these next week and are looking forward to bringing them home when they are finished.
We made rangoli patterns.
We looked at triangles and circles and discussed their properties. After looking at these pictures by Kandinsky some of us made our own shape pictures.
Shape Hunt Challenge!
Go on a shape walk around your house, try to spots some triangles and circles. Maybe you could take photos of the things you find and send them to your tapestry account!
