Little Red Riding Hood
We decided to focus on the story Little Red Riding Hood. We have enjoyed using the wooden spoon puppets to retell the story with our friends.
During the week we have written about the different characters in the story, we had to try to use the word 'because' to extend our sentences. We made posters to warn people about the Big Bad Wolf. We added some of these to the display that we started last week, when we drew various characters from traditional tales.
Red Riding Hood Art Work
We looked at some photographic art work by Xaviera Simmons. We talked about the things we could see in the photos and about how we thought the art work had been created. Mrs Bush challenged us all to produce a piece of art work based on these photos. We used various media to make our backgrounds; paint, pastels, paper, felt tip pens, cards. Mr Barnes took photos of us, we plan to add these photos to our art work next week.
Numbers to 20
We have continued to look at numbers to twenty. We made various representations of the numbers and played different games in our maths sessions to help us become more confident when working with larger numbers.
