Lots of questioning work this week. When do we use a question mark and what questions do we have from a front cover?
We carried on to make predictions about the story and try out our skills at finding rhyming words.
The children learnt the Kung Fu Punctuation action for a question mark which we tried to use throughout the week whenever a question was asked.
We finished our unit of work on "Everyday Materials" learning how to can sort materials using Venn diagrams. We sorted objects we could find inside and outside of the class on whether they were rough or smooth or both.
A lovely first lesson exploring our understanding of the term "town" and "countryside".
A picture of a cattle grid was included. I certainly remember driving over these as a child and my dad making it a bit of an event. I think he used to find them on purpose.
Finally we made and painted our clay tiles. They are all fantastic. Mrs Mottram even made some at home over the half term to show the children what they could achieve. Well done everyone. The care and attention taken in moulding the clay was excellent as was everyone's careful painting skills. I could see evidence of children mixing colours to get the exact shade wanted.
