Honky Tonky Donky Nativity
The children performed their three dances with enthusiasm. We look forward to the final cut. I have sent this file of photos to your child's welearn email as well for you to download and keep. Please don't post on social media accounts.
Virtual School Trip
After our nativity performances, we finished the day off with a school trip to Chester Zoo.... virtually of course.
We learnt about predators and how animals camouflage themselves.
We have continued our unit on Why Christmas is important to Christians.
The children compared Nativity scenes from around the world, looking for similarities and differences. We also discussed Advent traditions. The children were rather taken with St Nicholas Day in Germany where on the night of December 5th, children leave shoes outside their house/bedroom, ready for St Nicholas to visit. He then leaves sweets and gifts!
The children have started making Christmas wreaths. They already look fantastic, ready to decorate next week.
English and Maths
The children have certainly enjoyed the practical side of writing instructions to make paper planes! After writing our instructions, we went outside to finally fly them all.
In maths, we have been comparing numbers up to 20 and finding one more and one less.
