Week 8
We have reached the end of the first half term! Despite the half term being 8 weeks long it has flown by with a huge amount packed in! Mrs Young and I really enjoyed seeing so many parents and children on Wednesday and Thursday, it was lovely to be able to talk about all the amazing things the class have been up to.
English - This week the children completed their review of the National Space Centre. There were some excellent pieces of writing and for the main the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. I am sure the NSC would be delighted to have them on their website.
Maths - It has been a bit of a 'finishing up' week in maths. Both the year 5 and year 6 children have been working on multiplication and division and finishing off various bits of work from across the half term.
Afternoon subjects - Like maths we have been drawing to a close a lot of our work from this half term. Thursday afternoon the children go the opportunity to design some space themed art and had a listen to various songs as they did so. Mrs Young was very impressed with the eclectic music tastes on show.
Trophies - Being the final week it was trophies as opposed to a values award. Congratulations to Anais, Oleg and Florence for winning the maths, reading and writing trophies respectively.
