In English, we have continued our work with The Arrival text.
We imagined what it would be like to arrive in a country and not be able to understand the language or writing. We took it in turns to try and instruct our partner to do something, but we were not allowed to speak English. We quickly learned the importance of using signs and actions to help communicate.
In shared reading we have been looking at Instruction Texts. We had to follow instructions to make an origami crane. It was very difficult, but we got there in the end!
In Maths, we have been revising multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000.
We have been checking our measuring skills by measuring various objects in the classroom. We have practised converting between mm, cm, m and km and used these skills to solve measures word problems.
Next we revised how to find the area and perimeter of regular and compound shapes.
In Art, we have continued to develop our sketching skills. This week we sketched a self-portrait. We had to think about the proportions of our face and features.
Can you recognise who each of these portraits are?
